SERIES DESCRIPTION
Welcome to Grandpaville is a nationally recognized, independently produced original family comedy series consisting of 9 original half-hour episodes, and the made for television movie Grandpaland. This wholesome family comedy series was created by award winning actor, writer, producer, and Emmy nominated director Michael T. Lombardi, and released via his Michael T Originals production company.
LOGLINE: Season 1 focuses on 11-year old Shelby, who is sent to live temporarily with her toy-maker grandfather, whom she hasn't seen in years. Shelby comes face-to-face with a whole new world in a place she calls "Grandpaville", and her life becomes filled with excitement, adventure, and lots of laughs as she reconnects with her grandfather. After Shelby leaves, Season 2 focuses on Grandpa Potts and the wacky characters who inhabit the town and frequent the toy store. Together they continue their adventures, as Grandpa Potts takes on the role of surrogate grandfather to all the kids who visit his toy store in this small town affectionately known as "Grandpaville".
Welcome to Grandpaville was the first sitcom to feature a storyline that in part, focuses on a single grandparent helping to raise a grandchild alone, and the positive impact he makes on the kids of the community in which he lives.
The series provided hundreds of locally cast kid actors with the opportunity to gain valuable performing experience, make friends, and be a part of a professional television production. All of the episodes were produced in the state of Connecticut on a micro-budget, with actors and crew all hailing from the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and throughout the Northeast!
Michael T Originals also produced the pilot for the Welcome to Grandpaville teen spin-off series Brooke & Carly.
